Alpine Clare

So we had the MOST FUN skiing with Clare over Spring Break in Crested Butte!  I laughed and cried watching her do something new and challenging.  She didn't make it up the mountain, but received the highest marks for enthusiasm from her instructors!  I told Rob that it was my proudest parenting moment to date. 

We also enjoyed making a snow man, snow angels, and snow balls.  Also, Clare is the new gourmand of the cold- sampling the snow all over town (both clean and dirty).

Dads are awesome. Especially Rob.  These videos don't give much insight into Clare's intellectual progress, but, with Rob's help, her funny bone is especially well developed.

So far Clare has inherited Rob's furrowed brow and his love for hamburgers and books.  She has my walk (more of a shuffle) and my tendency to get LOUD when bored on long car rides.  Rob shot this quick video Labor Day weekend on their return from a trip to visit Kaki & BD.

Clare reported that while in Alabama she threw up, played with play dough, and rode the golf cart.

Also, since this blog is meant to serve as our family's album (I'm not keeping a paper one **sigh**)- Clare has some GREAT isms these days.
She calls cuddling "getting 'chuthers" which means "We're each others'."
She has just started saying, "I love you.  With alma heart."
And to most questions she casually responds with a breathy, whispered, "Yeah, sure."

She's eating great (especially loves cheese and bacon... from "Fried HAM"), plays well with Lila, Annabelle & Emma, and truly adds a giant amount of joy to our lives.

I can't tell if Rob is saying "kite" or "kike" in this video. We certainly aren't flying a "kike." How would that even work?

Like a fine wine, Clare's sense of humor has improved with age. She has become a BIG TIME Daddy's girl and in no time, Rob and Clare will have taken over the Guthrie household with irony and brit-wit.
